Past and future of the Immanuel Kant Park in Duisburg

Excursion with VHS Duisburg: The Immanuel Kant Park throughout the changing times

With its old trees, the Kant Park is the green lung of Duisburg city centre. Besides Lehmbruck museum and Kubus art hall there are lawns ( for sunbathing ), playgrounds, sports areas and Kant’s garden. At the moment the city of Duisburg is planning, with participation of the inhabitants, a rearragement of the park. The excursion is informing about the historical development, the tree population and the strength and weakness of the park.

The excursion, carried out by Mr. Heinz Kuhlen, is free of charge. It is in German language, but for the ones who do not speak German I will try to translate the most important facts.

Meeting point: Friedrich-Wilhelm-Straße, corner of Düsseldorfer Straße, in front of the big “David” statue, underground station König-Heinrich-Platz, bus stop Lehmbruck museum. If anyone else is going there from Neudorf ( I live in Gneisenaustr. 252 ), we can meet at the bus stop Kammerstrasse and go there together.

Date: July 9th, 14:00 to 16:00 hours
